Okay, let’s be real. This part is just kind of awkward, trying to figure out what to tell you about myself that you might find interesting. So I’m just going to pretend we’re on our first outing together and we both think we may have what it takes to be fast friends. We’ve just gone through the McDonald’s drive thru to get 2 large cokes because we’re smart women and we know where to get coke, and we’re on our way to the beach. You get comfortable in your seat and you say, “So Darci, tell me what I should know about you.”
Wow, thanks for asking. Ok, well…
You already know that I love McDonald’s coke but it’s ok, that one really can’t be overstated.
That fine man pictured above is my husband of 17 years. It’s not a great quality picture but that’s why I chose it, it’s true to us. We’re not really picture taking people. We still really like each other after all this time and wherever we are, there’s always dessert. Dessert is key.
God has given us 2 pretty cool kids. Cale, who is 13, and Aven, my girl who is 10. They both have perfected how to exhaust and overjoy me in equal parts just about every day. These three people are my loves…and Fozzy the dog. I love Fozzy too. He’s got his own category of exhausting and joy giving.
I am a stay-at-home mom, who said she’d never be a stay-at-home mom, and who now is so thankful to be a stay-at-home mom. I initially got my degree in business and was excited to get out there and make my mark on the world. I had serious professional goals and some nice power suits but God had other plans. He changed my direction and my focus and even now, when I find myself wanting to chase vanity, He consistently reminds me to seek first the kingdom. I spend my days taking care of the needs of our family and trying to get closer to Jesus through studying my Bible. Any other time I have available I meet with women. Women in our church or in the community who are looking for some help or direction in their relationship with Jesus or just some general mentoring. I love it all and find it to be a passion God has given me. Bible study has also grown into this deep love of mine over the years and actually, since you’ve asked, I just started a blog to share some of the things He’s been teaching me through that study time. You should check it out and maybe even subscribe so we can keep in touch.
Let’s see, what else…I enjoy dinner out, a movie out, but not camping out. I love time with family and friends and a Padre game at Petco Park with my man is hard to beat. I know I’m glad you’re here and that we have a chance to connect. And, yeah, I think that’s me. Feel free to hang out for a while.
